Dr John Stocker of CSIRO from Australia visited ISWC

On invitation of Mr. Lu Yongxiang, president of Chinese Academy of Sciences, a delegation group lead by Dr John stocker, the president of the Council of Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) and senior consultant Dr Ta-Yab Leong visited China. On Sept. 11th , the delegation made a special trip to visit ISWC. Associate Director Mr. Chen Gaixue and Senior Researcher Li Rui extended warm welcome to the guests and introduced ISWC to them, and companied them to tour the laboratory building and the History Exhibition Hall. During their stay here, the president Dr John Stocker and Senior consultant Dr Ta-Yang Leong introduced Australian CSIRO and its scientific research achievements to the postgraduates and young research fellows of our institute, and conducted wider range of communication on the proposed questions. CSIRO is one of the most important national research institute in Australia, and its subdivisions have been important cooperation partners of ISWC. Dr John Stocker visited ISWC twice in the year of 1993 and 1997 respective. During this visit , he highly appreciated the achievements ISWC has made in research and infrastructure improvement. Both sides has run back over the cooperation and exchange in past 25 years and expressed great satisfaction about the advancements in cooperation, and wish to expand and deepen cooperation in the new fields.
