Recently, the chief researcher from Korean Institute of Life Science engineering Dr. GUO Shangzhu visited ISWC.
The Director of ISWC Mr. SHAO Mingan received Dr. GUO Shangzhu and exchanged opinions about the management and coordination of the Sino-Korean Joint Bio-tech Center for the Prevention of Desertification. During his stay here, Dr. GUO Shangzhu and researcher Mr. DENG Xiping, deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Soil Erosion and Dryland Farming Loess Plateau, had an in-depth discussion over the implementation plans and personnel exchange programs of the joint center in 2010.
Later, Mr. DENG Xiping and Dr. GUO Shangzhu met the consul general Mr. QUAN Taidong of the Korean Consulate General in Xi’an, and introduced to Mr QUAN About the progress of the joint research center, and exchanged views about the prospects of developing bio-control technology for the prevention of desertification in northwest China. Mr QUAN expressed his great satisfaction with the achievements both sides have made in this field and his will to visit ISWC at appropriate time.
