John Langford, professor of the University of Melbounrne and fellow of Australian Academy of Science, visited Ansai Station of Institute of Soil and Water, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Ministry of Water Resources (ISWC).
Prof. Langford made a trip to the Institute’s long-term test areas, including experimental plots for long-term observation of the effect of vegetation, experimental area for comprehensive studies on the effect of agriculture tillage practices on soil and water conservation, fields for the observation of microclimate of valleys in loess plateau and plots for simulating rainfall experiments. The two sides changed views on relevant topics.
Prof. Langford also made a report entitled “The Australia-China Centre on Water Resources Research-?Addressing the Common Challenges of Water Scarcity” and discussed future cooperation between the two sides.
