Forage Breeding Experts Visited Forage Experiment Station

On May 15th, under the companionship of researcher CHNEG Jiming, director of Xianyang Forage Experiment Station, and experts from College of Animal Science and Technology of Northwest A&F University, Sanja？Vasiljevi？ and Slobodan？Kati？ form the Sino-Serbia Operation Program of the “Implementation Challenge and Reward Appraisal of Energy Grass” visited Xianyang Forage Experiment Station, and inspected the reproduction bases of clover and sainfoin, the forage artificial cultivation demonstration plot and the vertical cultivation model of fruit trees and grasses intercropping.
During their visit, the Serbian guests introduced the research progress on forage breeding at the Forage Research Station, Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, Serbia, and collection of clover germ plasma resources, quality comparison and screening in eastern European countries, the application of heterosis for conventional breeding, the progress of using molecular marker for the breeding of clover. Both sides also exchanged opinions over the mowing, fertilization and pest and mice infestation control in the clover production and unitization.
