Distinguished Prof. Robert Horton from Iowa State University visited the Shenmu Erosion and Environment Station from July 20th to 21st. ISWC director, Prof. Shao Ming’an accompanied the visit and introduced Prof. Robert Horton the basic conditions of the Station and its research accomplishments.
During the trip, Prof. Horton visited the Station’s experiment zone and agro-meteorological station, had a discussion with graduate students conducting researches there about their experiment design and implementation, and offered valuable advices on studies of soil evapotranspiration. During the discussion, Prof. Horton, with his humorous language, gave students encouragements in their life as well as their study. In addition, Prof. Horton introduced his current researches and hoped there would be more cooperation between the ISWC and his team in wilder fields.
During the trip, Prof. Shao also examined closely the life and academic conditions at the Shenmu Station. He extended his gratitudes and comforts to researchers, graduates and administrators still working there in severe heat, and hoped that they would work on and make more contributions to the development of Shenmu Station.
