Recently, 20 members of the International Training Workshop on new technology for agri-environment regulating, who came from Mongolia, Pakistan, Laos,Bangladesh, Nigeria and Thailand and other 9 different countries, companioned by Cheng Jiming, director of Xianyang Pasturage Experiment Station ISWC, related governmental leaders from Xunyang County, made an on spot investigation of the cow framing base at Xiaozui Village of Xunyi County. They asked for details about the practice of Xianyang Pasturage Station and the local government in developing livestock industry, and examined the intensive farming pattern of raisers and the needed equipments, learned about the production and living conditions of the local people.

In the following-up symposium, the workshop members attended the academic report given by researcher Cheng Jimin with title of “Government-Sci-tech-Raisers-Company----- New and Intensive Raising Pattern”. The report aroused their interests, and all thought that the success of this new pattern would have great reference value for pasturage development and livestock breeding in their own countries. Both sides also had discussions on issues related to livestock development on Loess Plateau, and gave some good suggestions. Through investigation, the training workshop members have a thorough understanding about the challenges confronting agri-environment and the successful practices China has made in this regulating agri-environment for production. This visit also would be helpful for the members to learn the core technology of China in regulating agri-environment, promote international cooperation in agriculture, and fight against world food security and environment problems.
