At the invitation of Land Development Department (LDD) of Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operative of Thailand, a delegation, led by researcher Li Rui of ISWC and Chairman of WASWAC, visited Thailand from May 16th to 24th. The delegation included prof. Liu Xiaoying from International Research and Training Center on Erosion and Sedimentation(IRTCES), Ministry of Water Resources, researcher Zheng Fenli, dean of International College of Northwest A&F University, associate researcher Wang Fei of ISWC.

During the visit, the delegation met officials from Land Development Department (LDD) of Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operative of Thailand, attended the 48th anniversary ceremony of LDD, toured the Soil Museum of LDD, and had preliminary discussion with LDD about its holding of the 2nd WASWAC International Symposium in 2013 and the next publication scheme of WASWAC.

During the visit, the delegation also conducted bilateral academic exchange with LDD, Kasetsart University, Chiang Mai University, Maejo University, Chiang Mai Regional Research Center of LDD, Department of Water Resource, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and other educational, and research and administrative organizations, and reached initial intentions in terms of cooperation, personnel exchange and visit, and student exchange and training. At the same time, the delegation also visited the royal Highland Project in Chiang Mai, Khao Hin Son Project， Fruit-tree Orchard Project in Rayong Province, and other projects in fields of soil and water conservation, environment management and agriculture development.
