xperts of UNSW visited ISWC

From May 5-13, Dr David Paull from the University of New South Walse and Dr Amanda Sulliuan from office of Environment and Heritage of New South Wales visited ISWC.
During their visit, they two gave reports to the researchers and postgraduates of ISWC entitled as “Habitat Fragmentation of the Southern Brown Bandicoot” and “Environmental Planning in an Agricultural Landscape” and made brief introduction to the University of New South Wales. Later, the two guests visited the Rainfall Simulation Laboratory and the Climate Simulation Laboratory, and highly praised the scientific research environment and extended their wishes to conduct academic cooperation with ISWC in terms of ecosystem restoration on Loess Plateau. They suggested to introduce animal population into the research field of ecosystem restoration. In the following days, under the company of WEN Zhongming, director of the Sci-Tech Office, the tow guests made an on-spot investigation of the geomorphic type of the Loess Plateau and the vegetation change. They also examined the experiment layout of the Ansai Soil and Water Conservation Station and showed great interest in the research of ISWC on the Loess Plateau.
It is reported that Dr. David Paull has been engaged in the study of biogeography, primarily the distribution and protection of the endangered species in Australia. Dr. AMANDA SULLIUAN has been engaged in research of environment planning and management.
