The Rainfall Simulation Laboratory for Soil Erosion Processes This is the second largest rainfall simulation laboratory in the world. It has an effective rainfall simulation area of 1260 m2, which is divided into four sections for various intensities of simulated rainfall ranged between 25-250 mm hr-1, and equipped with facilities for simulating runoff and soil erosion processes under various geomorphologic patterns and ground-surface covering conditions in the Loess region.
The Climate Simulation Laboratory for Dry-land Agriculture This Laboratory occupies an area of 2560 m2 and is composed of separate compartments to simulate luxurious, atmospheric and soil moisture conditions for crop growth. It provides an essential facility to study the physiology, ecology and water-use efficiency of crops in arid and semi-arid environments.
